![]() ![]() Went to test drive a Subaru Ascent….nice car but when I took the Atlas to Greenville SC the other day I thought what a fantastic vehicle the Atlas is. Good news is that VW dealership was able to experience it also and so now they know what I am talking about. Never on Highway and is super smooth so don’t believe it is a tire balance issue. Very odd but when turning in a parking space and the steering wheel straightens up it has been juddering briefly. VW have kindly ordered brand new steering rack for me on warranty. Picking up Atlas tomorrow with new rods installed. I think I changed my wipers on previous Toyota 3 times in 89000 miles which is why it seems excessive on the Atlas. I suppose they just seem excessively loud and yes you are right new wipers make it all go away. Wipers needed replacing, now at 17000 miles and same again. Just don't need one now I have the Atlas.Ĭlick to expand.Just about to….I know it sounds petty and trivial but got the vehicle with 7000 miles. Chrysler minivan? After 3, I think I'm done. Being my 3rd Jeep, I'd buy/own another in a heart beat. Thats why I will NEVER own another Honda of any level and it'd be hard pressed to own a Toyota based on my past experiences with costs of repair and the numerous repairs they needed over the life of ownership. No one likes the be told or think they made a bad investment but it's a learning experience. But having owned 3 other VW's from 81 to now, I accept the shortcomings and drive on. Everyone has pet peeves about their cars. I run them on all my cars and wouldn't buy anything else. A little noise when it's cold but that is normal when wipers, just like tires, start getting hard and don't flex as well as new. Granted the car sits in the garage when not driven but I second guessed my judgement and went ahead and replaced them anyway though they seemed to work just fine. Car was one **** of a nice drive with exception of having to stop and fill up it's itty bitty gas tank every 350-400 miles (I don't' like to drive on empty).Īs for the wipers? I JUST replaced mine. Drove down in a day, drove back in a day. It's currently at 14k miles and 90% of that is hwy miles (trips). Both normal and not normal.īut the car was purchased new Jul 2019. I also have a 09 Jeep and 2011 Town&Country so I'm well aware of noises. ![]() If there are ANY ROADS in the united states short of secondary roads, any suspension noises I'll hear. Granted, I live in the Detroit metro area. But when I take mine in for it's 2nd oil change, I'll have them do the front end work. I still think I got one built on Wednesday since I've not had any of the issues everyone else seems to be having.
